The Rummy Federation to host Skill Gaming Summit in July
The skill-gaming industry in India is booming over the last couple of years, with games like poker, rummy, fantasy sports and others on a rapid rise in the country. Of late, quite a few conferences and meets have been organized by the top authorities to discuss the future of the industry.
Likewise, The Rummy Federation (TRF) has made a recent announcement, stating that they will be hosting a ‘Skill Gaming Summit’ to discuss the needs and benefits of regulations in the skill gaming industry of India. The summit will be held in Mumbai's Taj Mahal Palace Hotel on 19th July 2018.
The conference will bring together some of India's top skill gaming experts, along with international regulators from regions like Malta, United Kingdom and New Jersey. TRF will also publish a report on regulations for online rummy operators, which will mainly focus on player protection and responsible gaming.
The conference has three main panel discussions scheduled:
- Insights from International Regulators
- Online skill gaming: Opportunity and outlook
- Current issues and benefits of regulations
Some of the main Indian and international speakers (mostly of top Indian rummy companies) for the event include Ace2Three CEO, Deepak Gullapalli; RummyCircle CEO, Trivikraman Thampy; Junglee Rummy CEO, Ankush Gera; Luthra & Luthra partner, Vaibhav Kakkar; PLR Law Chambers partner Suhaan Mukerji; and Malta Gaming Authority COO, Karl Brincat Peplow.
“With a high growth rate and improvement in technology infrastructure facilitating the booming ITES (Information Technology and Information Technology enabled services) industry in India, online rummy too has gained increasing acceptability across rummy players in India," said TRF President, Mario Galea.
"This growing industry is now poised at a point where it is apt for the stakeholders to collectively self-regulate by benefiting from each other’s experience. The Rummy Federation, an initiative by the online Rummy industry, proactively adopts state-of-the-art practices from countries where the gaming industry is regulated and lays down stringent self-governance guidelines for online rummy operators. This initiative will ensure that the online rummy industry offers healthy and sustainable entertainment to rummy players across the country,” he added.
