TRF hosts Skill Gaming Summit in Mumbai
Earlier last month, we reported the news of The Rummy Federation (TRF) announcing a skill-gaming summit in Mumbai on 19th July. The summit indeed took place, which was a first of its kind conference held by the TRF, an organization which was founded just in December last year.
The summit was organized and held at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai last week and a lot of positives can be drawn from this meeting. TRF Knowledge partner Deloitte released a paper called 'Online Skill Gaming in India: The Changing Landscape’, which included emerging trends in online rummy and other online gaming in India.
It also spoke about the current market size in the industry, as well as the potential of the market and the regulatory restrictions in India. The report suggested that the Indian online rummy industry grew at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 67% in the past 3 years and is expected to keep growing rapidly in the next few years.
The half-day event was attended by some of the big influencers in the industry, including regulatory heads, online rummy operators, other gaming operators and plenty others. The event also saw a self-regulatory ‘Code of Conduct’ being released for online rummy operators in the country.
‘Insights from Regulators’, ‘Online Skill Gaming: Opportunity and Outlook’ and ‘Current Issues and benefits of regulation’ were the three main panel discussions held at the conference. Discussions were carried out about the legal standards to be adhered to, the growth and potential in rummy and fantasy sports, and issues related to problem gaming.
The speakers included some of the biggest names in the online rummy industry of India, as well as a few international regulators. The future of the online gaming industry in India seems bright and you can keep reading GutshotMagazine.com for all updates on this industry in our country.
