Event #40: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha
1,216 entries registered to this tournament and after hours and hours of grinding at the tables in Rio All Suites Hotel, we finally had a champion in Germany’s Ismael Bojang, who took away the top prize of $298,507. Bojang claimed the first gold bracelet of his career after beating James Little in heads-up.
What a journey it has been for Bojang. Not a resident American, he travels to the WSOP each year and has a total of 75 WSOP cashes including 10 cashes in WSOP 2019 itself. He got his first WSOP cash in 2012 and has $3.5+ million in live cases, so it was high time he got himself a bracelet as well.
He was delighted with the victory, but it may be his first and only of the series. Talking about his future in Vegas, he said, "I would love to stay longer but I have important stuff to do at home that I'm really looking forward to. Family stuff, weddings, my girlfriend is waiting. I don't think I'll come back for the Main Event."
