Vinay B leads Week 2 of Spartan Hot Tournament Leaderboard

Posted On 14 May, 2018 0

The heat is well and truly on this May and while the rest of us are looking forward to the cooling showers of the monsoon in the coming weeks, poker players at The Spartan Poker have other thoughts occupying their mind. Earlier this month, introduced a tournament-centric promotion called ‘Hot Tournament Leaderboard’ challenge which is running all through the month of May. This leaderboard challenge features a mouth-watering INR 15 Lakhs in cash prizes to the distributed to the top 10. The only way to be eligible to earn points on this leaderboard is participation in every day’s featured tournament at The Spartan Poker. While the 10th place place finisher takes home INR 20,000, the leaderboard winner is guaranteed a super payday of INR 5 Lakhs! The Hot Leaderboard started from 1 May and will continue till the end of the month.

We are now 2 weeks into the challenge and there are already some big scores bagged by some of the regs of the circuit. Arsh ‘BigggTymeR’ Grover climbed up the rankings at the end of Week 1 and continued to rack up more finishes to maintain his position in the top 3. But the man who is enjoying a hot run (come on.. we couldn't resist that one!) Vinay B from Bengaluru who is comfortably leading the pack with 2,137 points. Currently from the 15 featured tournaments he's played this month, Vinay has some enviable finishes. He shipped The Elite tournament for INR 415,140, a 2nd place finish in the DareDevil for INR 125,199, a 4th place finish in The Electra for INR 55,090, another runner-up finish in the Elite tournament for INR 196,725 (3rd), another title in this past Saturday's Daredevil for INR 1,18,190 and rounded the week with a a 37thplace finish in the Sunday SuperStack for INR 13,290. What can we say?! The man is running H.O.T!

But Vinay cannot afford to take it easy as he has Mithun ‘ThePokeRaja’ Kookkiri (2,063 points) and first week leaderboard topper Arsh Grover (1,793 points) in second and third place respectively. We'll bring you another report same time next week about the Hot Leaderboard Challenge. Will the status quo of these three players change or will there be a new challenger to stamp his or her mark on the leaderboard?! Stay tuned to to find out!
