‘Vshetty1’ leads PokerBaazi Game Changer Day 1A
The much-awaited PokerBaazi tournament, Game Changer INR 2 Crore GTD has finally begun. The tournament scheduled between 20-24 February saw its first starting flight, Day 1A end yesterday. Given the hype surrounding the biggest single online tournament ever hosted in the country, it saw a good turnout of 1,015 entries, including 344 re-entries on the day.
Game Changer Day 1A started at 8 pm yesterday evening on PokerBaazi. The buy-in of INR 11,000 was coughed up by each entrant and the prize pool created on the first day itself was INR 1.015 Crores, more than half of the guaranteed amount. With 2 more flights remaining, the guarantee can easily be surpassed if this trend follows.
After a long haul of 5 hours, which ended at 1.01 am today, the field of 1,015 eventually whittled down to the 106 players progressing to Day 2 of the tournament, scheduled on 24th Feb. ‘Vshetty1’ is the chip leader who has bagged 558,609 chips at the end of the day.
Vshetty1 sits with a comfortable chip lead and has created a sizeable gap between him and the second in chip lead, Pranav Desai aka ‘GarviGujarat’ (400,995 chips). What’s more impressive is that the chip leader fired only one bullet and got to the top, which was surely a result of his skilful play on the day.
As was expected for PokerBaazi’s Game Changer, top talents from across the country participated on the day. Some of them to qualify for Day 2 with big stacks include Arjanveer Chadha aka ‘holdbaby’ (7th – 323,945 chips), Siddharth Mehndiratta aka ‘si151190’ (8th – 290,388 chips), Chiraag Patel aka ‘Versutus’ (10th – 276,574 chips) and Kartik Ved aka ‘TheInternetKid’ (13th – 252,167 chips).
Other known entities of the community like Shardul Parthasarathi (15th), Ujjwal Narwal (17th), Sriharsha Doddapaneni (25th), recent Millionaire winner Joey Saha (45th), Jayjit Ray (47th), Guneet Kwatra (55th), Ram Kakkar (73rd), Maria Kirloskar (75th), Sameer Tavanandi (89th), Jaydeep Dawer (100th), Sahil Mahboobani (101st) and Kavish Kukreja (103rd) have progressed to Day 2.
The second starting flight will begin today at 8 pm on PokerBaazi and again, a huge field consisting of top pros and high-stakes grinders is expected and may even break the guarantee today itself.
