WATCH: Poker Player Incredibly Folds a Set of Kings
Recently, we reported the news of David Larson winning the WPT Rolling Thunder Main Event for $295,128. While he took away top honours, it was Ian Steinman who is trending on social media at the moment, who Larson beat in the heads-up battle. He's gone viral for an unbelievable fold he made when just five players were left in the tournament.
Steinman was up against 2015 WSOP Main Event champion Joe McKeehen when this incredible hand took place. The two players had the two largest stacks on the table as Steinman was dealt pocket kings and McKeehen was dealt Q-10. The flop opened A-7-5 and Steinman seemed to be ahead, but the turn and the river was set to add some drama to the hand.
The turn opened J, followed by K on the river. This gave Steinman a powerful set of kings but McKeehen also came out of nowhere to hit an A-high straight. While most would never have the guts to fold a set of kings, Steinman did the right thing and folded his hand, not allowing McKeehen to double up.
Steinman, who has over $400k in career live earnings, ultimately took second-place in the event, for $201,428. On the other hand, McKeehen, famous for his massive, life-changing win of $7,683,346 in 2015, finished third for $131,081. Check out this fantastic hand here:
