World Poker Tour announces WPT India

Over the last few years, the sport of poker has been booming in India and the rest of Asia. The top poker companies across the world have recognized this and are constantly looking to bring their poker tournaments, leagues and other offerings to these parts of the world.

One of the biggest global brands in poker is the World Poker Tour (WPT) and they hosted their first tournament series in India towards the end of 2017, adding WPT India to their calendar. Now, they have announced the second edition of WPT India after the success of the series last year.

Just yesterday, the World Poker Tour added two news stops for their upcoming season in the Asia-Pacific region, with WPT Vietnam and WPT India. The series at Vietnam will be played between September 26 and October 4, 2018, at Pro Poker Club in Ho Chi Minh. On the other hand, WPT India will be hosted between November 13-19 at the Deltin Royale Casino in Goa, in partnership with Adda52.

The WPT India Main Event will have a buy-in of INR 55,000 and it is scheduled for 16-19 November this year. Last year's Main Event attracted a total of 527 entries and it was shipped by poker pro Vikash Mantri, who walked away with INR 60,30,000. The series will include the WPT India High Roller, Superstack, Bounty, and Shootout events.
