WPT Cambodia: 2 Indians cash NagaWorld Cup, 4 in Deepstack Turbo
The World Poker Tour (WPT) Cambodia is underway at NagaWorld and already 4 days into the tournament, quite a few tournaments have crowned their winners. Chinese nationals have been spotted making deep runs and yesterday once again, YinFei Xiao triumphed the NagaWorld Cup, pocketing an ambitious amount of $9,955.
The third tournament of the series saw a total of 136 players, a prize pool of $35,618 was created which was later shared among the top 18 finishers who all resumed on the final day. China’s Xiao entered the day as the chip leader from Flight 2.
The grinding continued for several hours until heads-up began. Xiao (Jd 8s) was up against Malaysia's Tan Kok Fye Darian (3c 6h) in the final hand with a 2.5:1 chip lead. Darian puts his entire stack in the middle of the 3d 6c 4h 8d turn board. Darian was ahead with two pairs while the competition turned tables with Jc on the river and that’s when Xiao triumphed the night with Jacks and Eights, attaching a valuable victory in his poker career.
As stated, 18 places were in the money including the Indian duo Chakshu Deep Raina who made it into the top 10 resting at 6th place for $1,460 and Ravi Shankar Metlapalli who cashed for $650 in 16th position.

$250 Deepstack Turbo
Deepstack Turbo was a one-day affair in the host venue in Phnom Penh. The tournament enticed 97 players and the field crunched down to 13 in the money. The fourth event crowned Lebanon’s Mohamad Abbouchi who won his first-ever live tournament and came out with $6,457 in prize money!
The completion of APT Vietnam opened doors for the players to enter WPT, especially the Indian crowd. The entire month has been terrific with tremendous action in place for these players who have been constantly representing India at various venues. Yesterday a sizeable group of Indians finished in the money Ankit Wadhawan (4th, $1,588), the WSOP Bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer (6th, $990), Meherzad Munsaf (11th, $582) and Gaurav Sood (13th, $529).

$550 Megastack Freezeout
Four days into the WPT Cambodia series, the $550 Megastack Freezeout kick-started with 149 players entering the tournament. With each one aiming to grab the top prize of $19,925, only 9 advanced to Day 2. Top 19 finishers get paid and each will be awarded a min-cash. The only player to reach a million in chips was India’s Gaurav Sood bagging an impressive stack of 1,001,000 followed by Australia's Kue Seong Tchong with 632,000 chips and in the 3rd place was Ravi Shankar Metlapalli with 537,000 chips.
