WPT releases schedule for upcoming WPT India stop
The World Poker Tour (WPT) announced the return of the WPT Asia Swing earlier this year. Asia is ready to gear up for some very significant events comprising of 3 series namely WPT Vietnam, WPT Japan, and WPT Korea.
Quite a few global poker brands including WPT have explored Asia in recent year and with the success of the 2018 WPT Asia Swing, another season has been scheduled. WPT Vietnam is next to shine in the Asian circuit, commencing on September 3.
In India, a busy season is set to commence too with live action from Goa to get very intense over the next 6-8 weeks or so. IPC (September 11-15), BPT (October 9-14), and the most awaited WPT India (October 15-21) are some of the tournament series scheduled to be played in Goa in the next couple of months.
WPT recently released the schedule for its 2019 series in India, beginning with the INR 20k Kickoff NLH 2-Day Event, followed by SuperStack with a buy-in of INR 35,000 and then the Big Bounty tournament with an entry of INR 25,000. The WPT India Main Event of INR 55,000 begins its first of three starting flights on October 18 followed by the final table action on 21st October.
WPT paved its way to India in 2017 and turned out to be a well-received series with 527 entries registering to the Main Event. Also, the previous year witnessed a massive participation of 697 entries that broke all records with Nikunj Jhunjhunwala emerging victorious in the biggest WPT India Main Event, winning INR 66.35 lakh. Playing its third consecutive year, WPT India is hopeful to see 700+ entries.
