WSOP 2019: Jorden Fox wins Event #22, 3 Indians cash
It has been a successful outing for Team India so far at WSOP 2019 with plenty of cashes in just the first couple of weeks of the series so far. Event #22: $1,000 Double Stack was another event where several Indian players participated and three of them even managed to cash out.
It was a 2-day tournament that attracted a 3,253-player strong field, with including some past bracelet winners. The first Indian to cash in this event was Romit Advani who ended 103rd for a prize of $2,742 (~INR 1.9 Lakh). A while after him, Paawan Bansal busted in 79th place for $4,385 (INR 3.04 Lakh). The highest ranked Indian was Sriharsha Doddapaneni who ended a good run in 52nd for a prize of $7,582 (~INR 5.26 Lakh).
The tournament went on after our Indian contingent was eliminated and the ultimate winner turned out to be Jorden Fox, who is one month away from becoming a father. He came to WSOP 2019 to only play 3 tournaments and incredibly, he won the last of them. He made a stellar run in last year's Main Event, finishing 27th and this is his first cash since then.
“We all come out here every summer together and make it our family thing. My dad (Yosef Fox) took 100th in the Main Event in 2015, I took 27th last year. Every time we get here we all get together and coach and rally each other. I don’t know how I’d do without the rail," he said about coming to WSOP as a regular family outing.
Final Table Results:
- Jorden Fox - $420,693
