WSOP 2019: Yudhister Jaswal leads 6 Indians from ME Day 1B

The world's most prestigious live poker tournament is the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and it has a massive $10,000 buy-in attached to it. Throughout the year, players from across the globe prepare for this event and today, we saw Day 1B coming to an end, which was the second of three scheduled starting flights.

The first flight saw 5 Indians making the cut, led by none other than Abhinav Iyer. The second flight saw more Indians participating and thus, more managed to find seats to Day 2 of the tournament. A total of 6 Indians made it from 1B and leading the charge is Yudhister Jaswal, who has been a part of the action at WSOP 2019 since a few weeks now.

A total field of 1,915 entries registered on the day, beating the field of 1,300-odd entries on the first flight. Eventually however, many busted during the day and only 1,417 of them bagged their chips to proceed to Day 2. Among them, the Indians in the mix are Jaswal (193,400 chips), Aditya Systla (162,700), Siddharth Karia (123,300), Ankit Ahuja (111,100), Adda52 Celebrity Pro Minissha Lamba (83,500) and Kunal Patni (66,500).

Now, we have a total of 11 Indian players who will resume on Day 2, with one starting flight still to be hosted. Traditionally, it's always the final flight which has received the most entries in the WSOP Main Event and we don't expect things to be different this time. Expect plenty more Indians to come through from Day 1C.

Day 1B top chip counts:

  1. Adam Owen - 351,800
  2. Gary Blackwood - 330,200
  3. Asi Moshe - 330,200
