WSOP announce first ever online circuit series
The World Series of Poker Circuit is a series of poker tournaments held annually at a variety of casinos since 2005 as a build-up to the World Series of Poker (WSOP). All Championship events are competed in no limit Texas hold'em; preliminary events may be different poker variants. Like the World Series of Poker and its prestigious bracelet, all circuit stops have preliminary events that award rings as well. Since its inception in 2005, 972 rings have been awarded. Twenty players have won at least five rings. WSOP.com hosted a tournament online in March this year to give out a Circuit Ring.
Now, they have come up with the very first online series where players from different states can win the Circuit Ring at the same time, thanks to the advent of the multi-state shared pool between New Jersey, Nevada, and Delaware. The first-ever Online Circuit series is a part of the 2018/19 WSOP US Circuit and is running for its fifteenth season. This season features an unexpected record total of 28 stops with better benefits for players, such as bigger starting stacks, new price points, and the introduction of the immensely popular big blind ante. The fifteenth season kicked off on 2nd August at Harrah’s Cherokee and will conclude at Harrah’s New Orleans in May 2019.
The online circuit starts on the 18th September and will run for 13 days with 13 ring events which have a total guaranteed prize pool of over $ 700,000 which is a huge sum of money. With one tournament to be featured every day on all thirteen days.
Standouts include a $100,000 GTD $320 Monster Stack, a $1000 NLHE 6-max High Roller with a $75,000 GTD and obviously a $525 Main Event with a $200,000 GTD. Along with all NLH events, the series will also feature a 6-max PLO event with the Knockout format, Deep Stacks, Turbos and a Monster Stack.
Like the traditional WSOP circuit events, this online series will also give out official WSOP rings to each winner of tournaments on these thirteen days along with the points towards qualifying for the $1 million-plus prize pool and season-culminating WSOP Global Casino Championship.
