WSOPE: Colin Grunow leads Day 1B of the Colossus

The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) will soon end its roller-coaster ride with the last tournament being Event #15: €550 Colossus running beside the Main Event. The room is packed with several hopefuls still competing to take home the jaw-dropping prize money and gold bracelet at King’s Casino, Rozvadov.

The 15th bracelet event halted at Day 1B yesterday which initially attracted another 196 entries, each chipping in €550 buy-in. After 18 levels, the event came to an end with only 16 hopefuls advancing to Day 2. The field reduced rapidly with 20 players being in the money. Claiming the night and amassing the largest stack was Germany’s Colin Grunow bagging 431,000 chips.

With only $2,974 in total live earnings so far all retained in King’s Casino itself, Grunow managed to stay in his best shape throughout the fierce battle, closely followed by Giorgiy Skhulukhiia with 317,000 chips and Robert Carrillo in the third place with 300,000 chips. The German player made deep runs, building his stack throughout the event. He busted 4-time bracelet winner Shaun Deeb and the 2018 WSOPE Event #7 PLO champion Anson Tsang.

Day 1B concluded with Catalin Siac being eliminated at the end. Other notable players moving onto the next day include 6-time bracelet winner Chris Ferguson with 137,000, bracelet winner Erik Cajelias bagging 115,000 and Tung Ho Kim with 101,000 who are still below the average chip stack.
