2019 IOPC’s Main Event has a staggering 1.5CR GTD

The latest India Online Poker Championship, or the IOPC, is the biggest ever online series to be hosted in India with a guarantee of INR 8.5 Crores in cash prizes. The upcoming edition will run between 11-20 January 2019 on The Spartan Poker. Such a colossal series implies the Main Event to be colossal too, and it’s exactly that.

Along with IOPC’s the Millionaire having INR 1 Crore GTD, the Main Event of the IOPC also has a jaw-dropping guarantee of INR 1.5 Crores, something that’s rare for a single online tournament in India. The tournament will be hosted on the final day of the series, i.e. 20 January, and will begin at 5.30 pm in the evening. The buy-in for the Main Event is set at INR 11,000.

Last IOPC’s Main Event had a guarantee of INR 1 Crore and the winner was the well-known player Sangeeth Mohan, who’s referred to as ‘Samoh’ in the circuit. He was the happy earner of a wholesome INR 19,28,988 as 1st place cash prize. The runner-up’s prize of INR 11,90,958 will look like a tournament win in itself, but it was the 2^nd place cash prize.

Generally, Main Events are not so huge in any tournament series hosted previously on various platforms, but Spartan has decided to break all records this year. Just this first month is lined-up with ultra-stakes events in IOPC and during other days on the platform.

There will also be a leaderboard hosted for the duration of IOPC, which has INR 30 Lakhs in guaranteed cash prizes, and the topper will be the owner of a brand-new Skoda Octavia. Judging by the extraordinary history of Spartan, it will come as no surprise if they break a few more records and conquer a few more summits down the line in 2019.
