6 more winners on Spartan Super Series Day 4


Spartan Poker is here again with the most awaited Spartan Super Series (SSS) for a weeklong series till 22 September. SSS is a high-stakes online poker competition providing the participants with a great platform to showcase their skills. Also, yesterday 6 tournament lined-up crowning another 6 winners of the day. The major attraction was the INR 45 Lakhs GTD Texas HR which was the top tournament of night. Following is a comprise summary of the events on SSS Day 4…

SSS Event #19 INR 60K GTD

The series began on a decent note with an INR 60K GTD tournament. A total of 450 players signed up for the tournament, all chipping in the INR 165 buy-in amount. The tournament was hosted with the top 31 places being paid. Player ‘madnutscrazy’ emerged victorious and shipped the tournament. He beat ‘Lord_of_the_RINGS’ in heads-up to bag this title. madnutscrazy won with Straight, Q-8 in the final hand, taking home his second title in the series.

SSS Event #20 Afternoon Showdown INR 3.5 Lakhs GTD

The buy-in for the second tournament of SSS Day 4 rose to INR 2,200. The event registered 215 poker players and once again, the guarantee surpassed, and a new prize pool of INR 4,30,000 was drawn with top 20 witnessing a paycheck. ‘Jai Bajarangbali’ powered through this field to claim the title and the top prize after he beat ‘Varun2929’ in heads-up. The winner won won with a pair, holding Jh Ac after ‘Varun2929’ went all-in pre-flop.

SSS Event #21 INR 2 Lakhs GTD

The third tournament of the Day 4 saw a buy-in of INR 550 registering 388 players. The event saw a prize pool to be shared among the remaining top 31 players and here, ‘ifoldfullhouses‘ emerged as the champion, taking away a healthy prize for first place. In heads-up, he beat ‘mickymssk’ who was also rewarded wel for finishing second. The player won by two pair, JJ, 44.

SSS Event #22 INR 2 Lakhs GTD

224 players registered to this INR 990 entry tournament and the eventual prize pool was distributed among the top 17 places. It was Level #27 of the Omaha tournament when the blinds were at 3500/7000, and ‘tripking’ was the player who took away the biggest chunk of this prize pool. He won after beating ‘Drifter2’ in heads-up, the latter settling for the runner-up prize.

SSS Event #23 Head-Hunter INR 12 Lakhs GTD

The Event #23 was a featured tournament for Thursday and saw a massive field of 330 entries (re-entries 60, rebuys 96). The tournament buy-in was INR 5,500 and a prize pool of INR 13,20,000 was drawn to be distributed among the top 31 poker players. Such an ambitious amount was won by ‘chitti3.0’ bagging the top prize of the night. He defeated ‘OnmyMAC’ with two pair, AA99. 

SSS Event #24 Texas HR 45 Lakhs GTD

With a massive buy-in INR 27,500, the HR attracted an outrageous number of 219 players (44 re-entries, 51 rebuys). The event busted the guaranteed amount, eventually drawing a new prize pool of INR 54,75,000 to be shared among 23 top players. The winner of the tournament was Prajal Parikh aka ‘77777777’ taking home an enormous amount as top prize. He defeated Phanindra Akkina aka ‘k9akkin’ who bagged a decnt prize as well. Parikh won by Pair, 66 while the latter showed a high card Ace in the final hand.

Gutshot caught up with Parikh after his victory and he expressed, “I was playing well. I just came back from IPC main event on 23rd. There I was playing so thought should give it a try with the tax refund and here I am now. I would like to thank my poker friend in this community Tejas Moondra who’s being playing since years due to which i am here now. Special thanks to Ankit Gandhi, Brijesh Sheth and Kavisha Parikh for being there in my biggest victory online!”

SSS Event #25 Hi-Fi INR 6 Lakhs GTD

This was the last tournament of the night. With a buy-in of INR 1,650, a total field of 466 players signed up to the tournament and the prize pool was eventually shared among the top 45 of them. At the end of the night, Sandeep Sreedhar aka ‘shreister’ ended as champion after beating Vinay Choudhry aka ‘Your Truly’ in heads-up. Sreedhar won by a pair of Aces.
