The Electronic Gaming Review (EGR) Awards are among the most prestigious awards in the field of online gaming across the world. The annual awards ceremony is hosted to felicitate the best service providers in the online gaming industry including various categories like betting and gaming software, networks, mobile, payments, recruitment, IT and infrastructure, and more.
You know the Indian gaming industry is on the rise when we see a few of our own brands being nominated for these high-profile awards. Russia’s Connective Games scored at the EGR B2B Awards which were held on 25th June 2019 at the Tower of London. Connective has been the software provider for a few Indian poker brands in the past, with now only Spartan Poker using the same.
At the same awards show, 9stacks was also nominated in the ‘Best Poker Marketing Campaign’ category, up against massive global heavyweights like The Stars Group (Pokerstars) and The Kindred Group (Unibet). They went on to beat them, becoming to first Indian company to win an EGR award.
The two main campaigns that came up in recent months were the rap song ‘Hustle Hai’ and the more recent web series called ‘Pokerface with Gopal Datt’. The judges commented on the same, saying, “Hustle Hai rap song earns points alone, but the numbers speak for themselves: revenue per month 217% and wagered amount 257%.”
The commercial success of the campaign, originality, creativity, direct results of the campaigns in terms of acquisition, revenue, and demonstration of achieving core objectives and enhancing brand values – these were the various criteria kept in mind while selecting a winner in this category.
