Spartan Poker’s Thursday feature tournament, Flash is usually an INR 12 Lakhs GTD tournament but since it was a part of the much bigger Spartan Super Series (SSS) umbrella, its guarantee received a major boost.

Yesterday’s SSS #9  The Flash INR 15 Lakhs GTD attracted a total playing field of 343 entries (including 51 re-entries and 139 re-buys). The tournament started at 7.30 pm in the evening and ended at 1.40 am today morning. It paid top 27 places for a min-cash of INR 17,150.

Outlasting the tough field was regular circuit player Amit Ajwani aka ‘kasuf’ beating ‘EasyMoneySniper77’ (SSS #4 Destiny runner-up) in the heads-up skirmish. Ajwani earned a wholesome amount of INR  3,79,872 as the first place cash prize after showcasing some good poker action.

The final hand of the tournament saw Ajwani with 7c Ah and his opponent with 2d Ad who decided to shove his remaining stack of a little over 956k pre-flop. Ajwani had decent enough cards and decided to make the call. The board of 9d 5h 6h 7d 9s returned two pairs Nines and Sevens for Ajwani, beating his opponent’s Nines only. The runner-up settled for INR 2,56,392 as the second place cash prize.

Ajwani is an acclaimed player and has respectable wins in the past. He has even won the prestigious Millionaire title on Spartan back in January 2018.
