Amrit Mishra Is The Eighth Destiny Winner On Spartan Poker


24-year old Amrit Mishra emerged victorious in the last night’s Destiny tournament on TheSpartanPoker for INR 5,44,800 and a ticket to the Destiny SnG Finale. The Finale is scheduled for 18 March at 6:30 pm where Mishra will compete with other nine qualifiers.Coming back to the Destiny tournament which is INR 20,00,000 guaranteed tournament saw a total number of entries of 496 entries which crushed the prize pool and made it into INR 24,80,000. The prizepool collected was distributed to top 50 places with a min-cash of INR 12,400.

24-year old working professional in the banking sector Amrit ‘stoner666’ Mishra claimed the Destiny title this week. He has completed his graduation from SRM Chennai and completed MBA from NICMAR, Pune. Mishra has spent most of his childhood in Bangalore and then late shifted to Mumbai. Besides this Mishra’s father has a government job and due to this, he was transferred to many places. Speaking of childhood, “Thanks to my parents that I have visited many places and met amazing people and now they are my great friends over the year. Mom used to be a teacher for a very long time later the teaching was limited to me. I have got the best mentor/friend in my sister who always advises me irrespective of the subject, she’ll be the one lecturing me and she’ll mostly be right.”

Apart from this, he shared is poker journey, “My poker journey started when one of my cousins was playing on Zynga Poker and I got instantly hooked on to it. Later, started playing micro stake cash games during my college days and that’s how it all began. During my MBA I was introduced to online gaming and have never looked back ever since.”

Mishra is the eighth Destiny winner on Spartan from the fourth edition and speaking to GutshotMagazine, he said, “Destiny the journey was pretty smooth. Gave a few sick ones along the road too. Other than this crucial hand was on the final table where I was 8/8 and jammed 77s into Sumit’s KK but a 7 on the river boosted me and from there on it was no looking back. It was a memorable day for me, especially as I’ve been waiting for this one big score for a long time now.”

Every poker player’s journey becomes a smooth ride when parents are with them, “I would always want to thank my parents and family for letting me play and understanding the game. My friends, all the BANTAS who’ve celebrated the highs and lows together.”
