Andras Nemeth wins EPT Barcelona €25k Single-Day HR

It has been a busy past few days at the Casino Barcelona, with the 2018 European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona stop being played out between 21 August and 2 September. Recently, we reported the news of Denmark’s Alexander Petersen winning the €10k PLO High Roller, while other events were also taking place simultaneously.

One of these events is the record-breaking Main Event, which has whittled down to the final 56 players, while another event was the €25k Single-Day High Roller, which attracted a total field of 95 entries, only to boil down to the final table and a winner being crowned, just around 12 hours later.

This steep buy-in led to a huge prize pool being created, and at the end of it all, it was Hungarian poker player Andra Nemeth won took home all the top honours, winning a massive, career best prize of €605,600 ($707k), which also took his career live winnings past the $1.7 million. His previous best was around $201k for finishing 4th in a 2009 Master Classics of Poker series in Amsterdam.

Some top poker pros from around the world were at part of the action in this high roller event, including Stephen Chidwick, Bryn Kenney, Luc Greenwood, Sam Greenwood, Nick Petrangelo, Patrik Antonius, Dan Shak, Timothy Adams, Alex Foxen, Ryan Riess, Mikita Badziakouski, and of course, PokerStars Team Pro Daniel Negreanu. Nemeth would thus be very proud of this win.
