APT Philippines: Nasa 10th in High Rollers 2; Dilip Menon wins NLHE 1


Asia Swing is experiencing some of the greatest tournaments of all time. This September crowned tons of winners and now with the on-going APT Philippines II, 2019 few more are yet to discover the ambitious prize money.

Apart from the jaw-dropping Main Event and the Championships Event, few side tournaments also acknowledged well-known players. The Single High Roller 2 event ran from September 16 to 17, registering 79 runners to create a prize pool of PHP 107,500 (~INR 1.46 Lakhs).

The tournament was topped by China’s Yin Momo who beat Jinho Hong, the Monster Stack 1 winner to the second position. Momo received his first-ever APT win and earned PHP 2,081,400. However, the competition was lit with well-known poker pros including Masato Yokosawa, who was recently crowned with High Roller Single Day 1 title pushing Akshay Nasa into the runner-up position.

Nasa was the only known player from India to participate in Single High Roller 2 receiving prize money of PHP 180,700(~INR 2.46 Lakhs). Yokosawa finished at 12th place cashing PHP 150,600.

With the on-going nail-biting competitions and players battling with one another, the APT Philippines II action is about to end within three days. With a wide range of side-events kicking in and crowning their winner throughout the series, the No-Limit Hold’em 1 shouldn’t be skipped. The event ran for two days from September 15 to 16. Drawing 150 players at PHP 19,800 each for a prize pool of PHP 2,619,000.

The event saw the victory of Indian contender Dilip Menon, a familiar face in the Asian circuit to triumph a field of 150 and claimed his second APT title after NLH event at APT Southeast Asia in 2017. Menon dominated the event by earning a massive amount of PHP 616,000 (~INR 8.38 Lakhs).
