This October so far has seen some of the most fantastic poker tournaments and Asia is once again warmed-up with numerous poker players swinging from one destination to another. Asian Poker Tour (APT) paved its way to Taiwan which is now buzzing with intense action at Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CPT Club).
The first day of the series hosted the Monster Stack, with a buy-in of TWD 16,500 a total of 127 players entered the tournament creating a prize pool of TWD 18,47,800. As the event progressed, with only 41 surviving to witness Day 2, it was Hong Kong’s Chan Tsun Ming claiming Day 1 of the opening event.
Ming is a well-known player in live felts. It was only couple of months ago that he won his career-best live cash of $23,766 in 2019 High Rollers APT Taiwan, Taipei City for finishing in 2nd position. He has also been recorded to have a 4th place finish in 2018 Special CoinPoker Super High Rollers, Vietnam.
Another notable player includes the 2019 Storm Series, CPT New Taipei Weekly Tournament CHAMPION Philip Wang who bagged 228,500 chips. Wang is among the top poker pros sitting at 20th position in Taiwan’s All-Time money list with total earnings of $298,654.
Top 4 chip counts at the end of Day 1
After the conclusion of Monster Stack 1, the eventual winner will set the pace in the APT Player of the series with players in the money earning points and eventually, the top 3 will receive the prizes. Besides the various side events to continue till 20 October, the attraction of the entire series is the Main Event TWD 6 million GTD scheduled between 10 -15 October.
