Archit Saraogi wins Spartan’s Big Daddy

Big Daddy is one of the most popular tournaments to be offered on The Spartan Poker. When the people behind India Poker Championship (IPC) decided to take charge of the famous Big Daddy Casino in Goa, they commemorated the acquisition by hosting the Big Daddy tournament on Spartan which offers the winner an INR 30K Goa package to play in their poker room.

Big Daddy INR 5 Lakhs GTD always attracts a good number of poker enthusiasts from across the country, with the buy-in of INR 1,100 being pretty reasonable. Last Sunday’s Big Daddy attracted 450 entries and eventually, the top 36 places were paid (min-cash – INR 3,250).

The winner to emerge from the grind was Archit Saraogi aka ‘ReMorse123’. Saraogi took home INR 1 Lakh as the 1^st place cash prize after beating ‘STIRFRYY’ in heads-up. Since the tournament was hosted on a Sunday, there were other big tournaments being hosted simultaneously on Spartan, like the Sunday SuperStack and Two of a Kind (2.o.K)  so the field was softer, but nonetheless competitive.

The final hand of the tournament was played in Level 35 with the blinds at 9,000/18,000/1,800 (ante). Saraogi was already in the lead entering heads-up and the last hand saw him with almost 3:1 chip lead. STIRFRYY shoved pre-flop and Saraogi called. The board of 7d 2h Tc Jh 8s disappointed STIRFRYY, who didn’t hit any pair with his Ah 3d but Saraogi managed to hit a pair of Sevens with 7s Ad and he swept the pot.

Saraogi has sizeable cashes in the past, playing online. He is a regular grinder and has previously won the Sunday SuperStack on Spartan for almost INR 6 lakhs in June last year. Winning a big amount like this is a major boost to any player and this Big Daddy win also added a good amount to his bankroll. He’ll be looking forward to an amazing run in this action-packed month as well as the rest of the year.
