Arjun Agrawal seals place in Destiny 9.0 finale

Here’s a tournament which has undoubtedly been one of the most popular tournaments on Spartan Poker over the last couple of years. Currently in its ninth edition, Destiny INR 20 Lakh GTD always offers a huge prize pool to poker players while also giving you the chance to play in the INR 10 Lakh Finale SnG, where all the winners of the series battle it out together.

The tournament takes place once a week, every Wednesday at 7:30pm and yesterday’s grind went on for 7 hours and 18 minutes, ending this morning at 2:48am. As usual, the tournament involved a buy-in of INR 5,500 and 425 entries were a part of the field, taking the prize pool past 21 Lakh, which was then shared among the top 40 places (min-cash: INR 12,750).

Before an official winner could be announced, many pros and regulars fell out along the way. However, once we reached the top prizes, the field seemed to be comparatively softer than it usually is on a Wednesday night and the player who emerged victorious was Arjun Agrawal who plays on Spartan Poker as ‘SirMucksAlot’.

Agrawal has had a few big wins online across platforms and has also Final Tabled a couple of live tournaments in Goa. Yesterday however, he was second to no one, winning the tournament and banking the top prize of INR 4,86,267 after a heads-up deal with Abhishek Garg aka ‘SlamDunk’.

Other known players to rank among the top were Aniket Waghmare aka ‘Anteman’ (17th), and Sriharsha Doddapaneni aka ‘GTOsucks’ (6th). The tournament came to an end when Agrawal knocked out ‘SupremeIntelligence’ in third place for INR 2.15 Lakh. The two remaining players quickly agreed on a deal and Garg was the player slightly behind in chips, settling for INR 4,27,482 in prize money.
