India Poker Championship’s Final Table Series concluded with a celebratory bang and crowned Arjun Pasricha as its FTS Main Event champion! Pasricha who is known by his username ‘lol this guy’ had entered the final table of the main event in just seventh place. He slowly and steadily rose to the top, building his chip stack with a lot of patience and good gameplay.
Among the other seven who made it to the final table was Kanchan Sharma, a well-known name in the poker circle with a chip stack of 56,78,473 and notably was the last woman standing. Shivang Kumar or ‘RegularPlaya’ was leading with the highest chip stack of 82,53,607 but came in a close second.
The heat was on in the final round when Arjun Pasricha aka ‘lol this guy’ and Shivang Kumar aka ‘RegularPlaya’ went head to head, with ‘lol this guy’ in the lead with 15,685,676 in chips. The hole cards were dealt with ‘RegularPlaya’ having a 5♠ A♦ and ‘lol this guy’ holding 9♣ 9♠. The preflop saw Shivang go all in with Pasricha calling it, a decision he was well awarded with when the showdown began and he got three nines on the flop, making him the Main Event champion of FTS 2020.
Maria Ho, one of poker’s best female players and award-winning host, joined Sam Razavi and Kevin MacPhee two equally known players, as a commentator for the final table of the Main Event. They kept the livestream fun and lively while also diving into the game and providing valuable insights on each players’ gameplay.
The weeklong poker fest also saw some of the fastest wins and record deals. Starting from Arsh Grover winning the FTS Kickoffs in just over 40 mins to a much-anticipated three-man war ending in a deal, this year’s FTS was a must watch for poker fans across the country. Let’s hope that next year’s event will be bigger and better, bringing us twice the fun, excitement, and epicness!
