A belief that prevails about professional poker players is that they have luck on their side. Luck could be one of the factors that contribute to the game but winning every game cannot be based on luck alone. To become a poker pro you need to have the mental stability to take the highs and lows of the game.

Professional players only play for big money

It could be a professional or an intermediate player, knowing where you are in ranking and how you can gain more experience is very critical. Professional players try their hand at all the games. Experience at playing the games will not always translate to earning big money. If you assume that it’s a Monday and not many are opting to play a freeroll, trust us, even professionals tend to pick this day as a favourite.

Poker pros tend to stake more on other players

Staking has gained a lot of popularity in recent times but not all players opt for staking. Let’s take an example. For instance, a person plays a 1 crore GTD for a 11,000 buy-in. If X person stakes 20% for a game, then that person pays INR 2,200. At the end of the game, if the player you stake on wins a sum of INR 25 Lakhs, then X person wins INR 5,00,000. This is a huge amount compared to what he had staked. Staking is not legal in India. It is just a predominant belief that poker players tend to stake money on others.
