It has been a roller coaster week for the online poker fanatics with some major tournament series to choose from. Yesterday on PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) Connor Drinan playing under the username ‘blanconegro’ officially created history by winning his fifth tournament title in SCOOP-75-H: $10,300 PLO after a two hour heads-up with Jens Kyllonen aka ‘Jeans89’.
The entire tournament garnered a field of 159 entries who paid $10,300 buy-in. Ultimately, the advertised guarantee of $1.25 million was surpassed, collecting a prize pool of $1.59 million. The top 19 spots well-received a paycheck. Day 3 kicked off with Drinan leading the survivors with a massive stack of 12 million. As the day progressed, Joao Vierira aka ‘Naza114’ exited the table in the third place and heads-up got underway.
At first, Kyllonen was ahead with a 3:1 chip lead against Drinan. However, after multiple lead changes, the former failed to dominate Drinan and ended up in the second place while the champion took home an impressive $322,264 in prize money for his victory, besting the record of 4 titles by poker pro Shaun Deeb!
