Six Spartan Super Series (SSS) tournaments were scheduled for yesterday, 14th October. Now Sunday always means a lot of high-value tournaments, and especially so on The Spartan Poker yesterday, where the final day of the SSS series was being played out. Several high-guarantee tournaments were scheduled for the day, but before that, a couple of side events were also scheduled.
SSS Event #33 INR 250k GTD was the second SSS tournament of the day after Chirag Chaudhary won SSS Event #32. This one was an INR 1,100 buy-in tournament where a field of 177 entries participated and at the end of it all, the prize pool was shared among the top 24 players with a minimum cash of INR 2,500.
It was a tough field, as most tournaments on Spartan are, and the player who emerged victorious from this field was ‘Crazy11’, getting paid out INR 57,500 for this effort. There wasn’t much of him throughout the series so a Leaderboard spot is something he couldn’t find, but an SSS title is still something worth bragging about.
He completed this impressive victory in Level #38 of the tournament, with the blinds at 5,200/10,400 – 1,040. His final victim was ‘rakeshguru’ who he beat in heads-up after having created a chip lead of over 6:1. rakeshguru also took away a decent prize of INR 38,625 for finishing second.
Crazy11 had a bigger stack to play with so he went all-in without seeing the flop, revealing Ks 5c. rakeshguru didn’t have much of an option with a diminishing stack, so he made the call with Qs 3s. The board then ran dry with Td 7d 9c 7h Ts and both players hitting Tens and Sevens on the board. Ultimately, it all came down to Crazy11’s higher kicker, King over Queen.
