GameChanger 2.0: Prakash Gupta leads after Day 1B

The biggest online poker tournament in India returned a couple of days back with GameChanger 2.0 scheduled between 21-25 August 2019. This time, the buy-in was halved by PokerBaazi to INR 5,500 and we’re expected a bigger field than the 3,700+ entries that took place in the inaugural edition in February this year. Yesterday, we spoke about Day 1A and how the first flight attracted 1,143 entries.

Day 1B saw a pretty healthy turnout as well, slightly more than the first flight, with 1,182 entries registering and adding another INR 59 Lakh to the prize pool. After the scheduled 5 hours of play last night, the tournament halted at 1am and 115 survivors bagged their chips, taking the total Day 2 field to 226 entries so far.

Because of the massive INR 2 Crore guarantee, a huge number of the top Indian pros were in the mix but not many of them managed to finish among the top stacks of the night. Prakash Gupta aka ‘pinnug’ ended as the chip leader and the only player above 400k chips, finishing Day 1B with a stack of 591,291.

Some of the many PokerBaazi regulars who survived the day were Shuchi Chamaria (281k), Rajat Sharma (278k), Jaydeep Dawer (249k), Utsav Taneja (210k), Ashish Ahuja (172k), Kartik Ved (161k), Phanindra Akkina (128k), Sandeep Varma (97k), last night’s Head-Hunter winner Nishant Sharma (72k), Jasven Saigal (68k), Dhawal Lachhwani (61k), Sahil Agarwal (56k), Maria Kirloskar (29k) and others.

There are massive prizes waiting to be won. No one will forget the first edition of GameChanger which took place in February this year, which ended with a 4-way deal and Prashanth Sekar emerging as the official winner.
