Gaurav Sood ships PokerStars’ Super Tuesday

PokerStars India began its operations in April 2018, and since then they went on to host many exciting promotions and events which have turned out to be quite popular. This was expected since PokerStars is THE biggest brand of the online poker industry, worldwide. They recently hosted the INR 1.6+ Crores Winter Series in December to celebrate the spirit of the season, where Abhineet Jain bagged the Main Event title for over INR 6.2 Lakhs.

Apart from the various daily tournaments on PokerStars India, they also a feature tournament every day. Yesterday’s feature tournament was called ‘Super Tuesday’ and had a guarantee of INR 6 Lakhs. The tournament began at 8 pm and had a buy-in of INR 3,300 which attracted a total of 175 entries (including 64 re-entries). The champion was declared at 2:13 am today morning. Gaurav Sood aka ‘3betPanda’ emerged victorious and took home INR 1,20,237 as 1st place cash prize. He had fired two bullets to bag this victory.

Sood is a known name in the online and live poker circuit in India. Yesterday’s heads-up battle saw Sood playing against another well-known player Rubin Labroo aka ‘kornkid4’. After intense two-way action, Labroo had to settle for the runner-up title and INR 80,951 cash prize.

The champion, Sood, has seen a decent number of earnings online in the past. He even shipped the Mega Stack title on Spartan in late-October last year for a good amount of INR 2,53,800. Sood also previously shipped the same title on Spartan for over INR 2 Lakhs in September.

We got in touch with Sood and he was elated about the win saying, “It always feels good to ship a tournament. This makes a good start to the new year. I’m looking forward to putting in more volume and hope that the results will follow.

About the heads-up battle with Labroo he elaborated saying, “I ran pretty hot in heads-up after being the shortest stack from the very start of the final two tables. My pocket Kings got the better of a flopped straight with runner runner flush. Rubin bhaiya is one of the sickos out there and it feels good to have won heads-up against him.” He playfully added, “Labroo ran terrible as well though, to be honest.”

Other knowns to rank in the money include the latest PokerBaazi Bout winner Sagar Choudhury aka ‘sagarpupull’ (7th – INR 22,524) and Abhishek Garg aka ’TheGrinder333’ (13th – INR 10,515) who recently won back-to-back feature tournaments on 9stacks.
