In the wake of Covid-19, Sahara Las Vegas begins live tournaments

Joining the bandwagon of casinos reopening during the pandemic with live poker is Sahara Las Vegas that just made the big announcement about their live poker tournament. Furthermore, the facility has been preparing itself since June to reinstate poker, and the early measures have been a success.

The Poker room will be hosting No-Limit Hold’em Tournaments that will now run every Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. In all, the weekly event features 24 levels. The ante will be generated based on the big blind and it will be only pasted before the big blind as well. The small blind begins at 100 but will start going up as soon as the forth level. Each tournament player will begin with 20,000 tournament chips and a $100 buy-in, that will go directly to the prize pool.

Meanwhile, though the casino have reopened, casino safety and all safety standards at the poker tables have been intact. Guests must maintain social distancing norms and everyone has to compulsorily wear masks. Only seven people would be allowed per table. The poker room itself has seven dedicated poker tables, wherein 49 players can play simultaneously. Plexiglass dividers and seven handed to eight handed games are almost prevalent in all the casinos in Las Vegas.

Presently, the Sahara Las Vegas poker room has been operating throughout the week. The recently innovated poker room is a part of the 60,000 square foot casino gaming space that features over 50 dedicated table games. Currently, Sahara is working throughout the week and general casino rules will be applicable.

The Venetian was the first casino on the Las Vegas strip to begin live tournaments in the covid-19 phase.
