Israel’s Asi Moshe wins Event #45 and third gold bracelet!

50 hands into the Final Table and Israeli pro Asi Moshe had begun creating a commanding chip lead over his opponents. Soon, he had managed to execute a couple of eliminations and was increasing the distance between himself and the other players in contention. It was only a matter of time before he reached his third career World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet today!

The tournament we’re talking about is Event #44: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Bounty, where a massive field of 1,807 entries registered on Day 1 which played down to the final 272 players by the end of the first day. We also had 3 Indian players progressing to Day 2 and all of them were guaranteed a place in the money.

With so many bracelet winners and global poker pros in the mix, our Indian heroes all busted out during Day 2. Among them were Vinod Megalmani (222nd for $1,495), Nikita Luther (172nd for $1,603) and Madhav Gupta (114th for $1,915). Indian origin bracelet winner Nipun Java was also in action, finishing 165th for $1,741.

When players returned on Day 3 today, it was all about Asi Moshe, a player who already had $2.1 million in live earnings prior to this tournament, to go with 2 bracelet victories, winning the most recent one at WSOP Europe in Rozvadov in October last year.

The Israeli pro had to deal with some tough competition in Germany’s Tonio Roder and Day 2 chip leader Damjan Radanov in 3-way play, who stuck around for a while even though they were fairly behind in the chip counts. At one point of time, Moshe gave away his lead and all three players were dead even in chips, but Moshe managed to regain. From there, it got over all too quickly as he entered heads-up with a chip lead of over 7:1.

With such a massive lead, Moshe reached a point where he could shove regardless of what hand he had. In the final hand, he raised 6 million chips with 4s 3s which was enough to cover his opponent who called with Td 8d. No player matched anything on the flop and Radanov was still ahead with high card T on the turn but a Four opened on the river to knock him out in 2nd place.

Final Table Results:

  1. Asi Moshe – $ 253,933
  2. Damjan Radanov – $156,875
  3. Tonio Roder – $113,360
  4. Patrick Truong – $82,764
  5. Vitalijs Zavorotnijs – $61,085
  6. Andrew Hills – $45,521
  7. Timothy Stephens – $34,300
  8. Harrison Gimbel – $26,125
  9. Bastian Fischer – $20,115
