Joey Saha marches on to EPT National Day 3 in Barcelona

European Poker Tour (EPT) has grown over the years to become one of the most loved live poker brands across the world and their latest stop is the EPT Barcelona taking place at Casino Barcelona, where a lot of our Indian pros are also in attendance. We saw them in action in the €1,100 EPT National event which had four starting flights taking place across two days.

Overall, six Indians progressed to Day 2 and returned to the venue yesterday to battle it out among the final 702 survivors from the original field of 4,682 entries. All of them would eventually finish in the money with a minimum pay-out of €1,670 (~INR 1.34 Lakh). As the day progressed, 5 of our 6 Indian players busted out.

Indian players ITM:

  • 392nd – Bharath Janardhan – €2,230
  • 425th – Raman Gujral – €2,230
  • 519th – Charu Vikram Kaushik – €2,010
  • 529th – Muskan Sethi – €1,790
  • 571st – Sumit Asrani – €1,790

By the end of Day 2 of the EPT National, this field whittled down to the final 46 players and the lone Indian survivor here right now is Joey Saha, who seems to love Barcelona as a poker destination. It was just a couple of months back that he came 9th in the 888poker Barcelona ME and a couple of days back, he finished as one of the top 5 stacks in Day 1A of this EPT National.

Now, he has ended Day 2 with a stack of 3,765,000 chips which is above the average and he is currently among the top 15 stacks as well. When they return tomorrow on Day 3, Saha is guaranteed a prize of at least €9,710 (~INR 7.83 Lakh) but he’ll be looking for much more. Currently, the chip lead is with Ireland’s, Barry McGovern who has 7.24 million chips.

Day 2 top 10 chip counts:

  1. Barry McGovern – 7,240,000
  2. Adam Hendrix – 7,200,000
  3. Ali Chaieb – 7,000,000
  4. Andre Silva Dias – 6,650,000
  5. Gregory Armand – 5,195,000
  6. Maxime Chilaud – 5,015,000
  7. Markku Koplimaa – 4,985,000
  8. Jose Quintas – 4,885,000
  9. Pasquale Braco – 4,405,000
  10. Jean Leste – 4,385,000
