Sundays are known for having the biggest online poker tournaments across platforms in India. On PokerBaazi too, there’s something known as the BSS SuperStack INR 25 Lakh GTD which is scheduled for 7pm each Sunday evening and more often than not, we see the guarantee being crushed in this tournament.
Yesterday too, there were a total of 586 entries that each paid the buy-in of INR 5,500 to play in BSS SuperStack. This took the prize pool up to INR 29.3 Lakh and eventually, the top 72 places would taste success, each receiving the minimum payout of INR 9,083. As for Kartik Ved, we know what a champion he is. He set his eyes on the top prize and there was no stopping him last night.
Easily among the top players in India at the moment, Ved is known for playing under ‘TheInternetKid’ across most poker websites and last night, the name did well on PokerBaazi. He bested the field and was well rewarded for it, earning INR 5,53,770 for first place, but only after going through a tough field.
This included Vinay B aka ‘Vinstill’ in heads-up, someone who also has a great record of winning online poker titles in recent years. In third place was another champion player in Guneet Kwatra aka ‘guntz’. Here, Vinay B took away the runner-up prize of INR 3,88,225 and Kwatra earned INR 2,49,636 for his run.
There were many more known names in contention including Sajjan Barnwal (72nd), Jasven Saigal (67th), Sahil Mahboobani (65th), Arjanveer Chadha (63rd), Aditya Sushant (57th), Pranav Bang (56th), Guruprasad Gupta (49th), Rajesh Shukla (28th), Abhinav Iyer (27th), Sumit Sapra (18th) and several others.
As for Ved, it would’ve been just another day in the office for him. He’s used to big wins and recently, he’s been bringing in big cashes in the live poker circuit as well, finishing 51st in the WSOP 2019 Main Event in Las Vegas last month.
