Kasaraneni leads 10 Indians from Day 2C of WSOP 2019 ME

Registration closed today in the 2019 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, but not after we witnessed what became the second largest Main Event field in the history of the WSOP. A humongous field of 8,569 entries registered in all, with a few hundred joining on Day 2C, finishing just 200-odd entries behind the largest ever field of 8,773 entries seen in the 2006 WSOP Main Event.

This flight was for all the players who survived Day 1C and the day started with 4,008 players, eventually boiling down to just 1,793 players at the end of Day 2C. Team India was also well represented on this day, with 23 players hitting the tables today, but only 10 of them managed to get a bag at the end of day’s play, now moving forward to Day 3 of this prestigious event.

Team India is currently being led by Ashish Kasaraneni who carried forward a bag of 347,900 chips, while Kartik Ved is close behind him with 285,100 chips. Kasaraneni is a player with only 2 live cashes in his career, both coming in Goa, so this will be one hell of a WSOP debut cash if he manages to run deep. As for Ved, he has $200k+ in live cashes including 7 cashes in WSOP 2019.

PokerStars Team Pro Aditya Agarwal also makes it to Day 3, and it will be the toughest day so far as the money is expected to be reached on Day 3. The top 1,286 players will receive a share of the pie, each cashing for a minimum of $15,000. However, everyone’s attention will be on the massive $10,000,000 kept aside for the 2019 WSOP Champion!

Talking about champions, the WSOP 2018 ME winner John Cynn is also a part of the field with a stack of 248,900 chips. The current average stack is 178,521 and 7 of our 10 Indian survivors are currently above this average. They are all trailing Julian Milliard at the moment, who ended the day with 947,900 in chips, towering over the rest.
