Kui Song Wu wins PKC Super High Roller

The Poker King Cup (PKC) Macau has been one of the biggest poker attractions in Asia over the last week or so. What began on 20 September concluded yesterday with the two biggest tournaments of the live series still to decide their respective winners. Wrapping up the series at the Venetian Macau yesterday, we had results from the 200k Super High Roller as well as the PKC Main Event.

The Super High Roller saw a steep buy-in of HKD 200,000 but for those who finished in the money, it was equally rewarding as all of them took home hefty prizes. The biggest prize of all went to China’s Kui Song Wu who won the PKC trophy as well as HKD 1,720,000 (~$220,124) in hard cash.

Not only was this his biggest live cash so far, but the amount he spent on the buy-in was also bigger than his previous best cash, so it was quite a brave decision for this player to participate in this tournament… And then ship it too. He bested a small field that consisted of some of the best high-stakes pros in the world.

He beat Taiwanese pro James Chen in heads-up, while Australia’s Michael Addamo finished in fourth place, rounding up those who got paid out in the tournament. Belarus’ all-time highest poker earner Mikita Badziakouski also ran deep but eventually busted in 6th before reaching the money.

Final table results:

  1. Kui Song Wu – HKD 1,720,000
  2. James Chen – HKD 1,017,000
  3. Ye Wang – HKD 704,000
  4. Michael Addamo – HKD 469,000
  5. Shan Huang – NA
  6. Mikita Badziakouski – NA
  7. Takashi Ogura – NA
  8. Phachara Wongwichit – NA
  9. Phanlert Sukonthachartnant – NA

The tournament lasted slightly over 10 levels of 50 minutes each before a winner was crowned. Keep reading GutshotMagazine.com for an update on the PKC Main Event as well.
