Sunday SuperStack INR 25 lakhs GTD on Spartan Poker is one of the biggest weekly feature tournaments among the host of other offerings on various platforms in India. The tournament unfailingly attracts a large playing field and the winners go home with enormous cash prizes.
Last night’s Sunday SuperStack attracted a field of 491 entries (including 84 re-entries and 157 re-buys). The buy-in for the tournament was set at INR 5,500 and the top 50 places were paid out of a healthy prize pool for a min-cash of INR 12,500. The tournament started at the usual 7.30 pm and was finished by 2.25 am today morning.
Laksh Pal Singh aka ‘LuckyBhai$’ on Spartan, a regular online grinder, aced the tournament and finished on top, earning a decent INR 6,50,000 as first-place cash prize. He beat another well-known community entity Mayank Jaggi aka ‘alwayslimpAA’ in heads-up to win the title.
The last hand of the tournament happened at Level 48. Singh was with over 3:1 chip lead in the last hand of heads-up and was looking to deal the final blow to his opponent. The flop of 4h 5h Jd saw Singh make the lower two pairs with 4s 5d and he shoved his stack. Jaggi also made top pair and called. The turn and river of 8h and 3s respectively didn’t matter and Jaggi eventually saw Singh’s two pair and accepted defeat, settling for INR 4,00,000 as runner-up cash prize.
Coming to the winner, Singh is a regular player on all leading platforms of India like Spartan. He has run deep in many previous major online tournaments. He recently won PokerBaazi BSS SuperStack earlier this year, including others. Last night’s win saw him earn a good amount, and he’ll be looking win some more in coming months. We spoke to Singh after his victory and he said, “I’ve been wanting to win this one for a long time! I was discussing yesterday with someone that how I’ve never won a major feature tournament on Spartan and I finally bagged one last night!“
