Lester Edoc wins the APT Philippines Main Event title AGAIN!

Lester Edoc is a Filipino poker pro that is now becoming a huge contender when it comes to top Asian poker tournaments, and probably even international, since he made a couple of cashes in Vegas when he went there for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) earlier this year.

In April, the pro shipped the Main Event when the Asian Poker Tour (APT) had its first stop in Philippines. He then finished second in the Championships Event there and followed it up with a CoinPoker Super High Rollers victory when APT made its second stop in Philippines a few days back.

He wanted to prove that he’s among the best in the business and he was among the top chip counts in the recently concluded Main Event too, yesterday leading the final eight. Later, the Metro Team Pro returned to the Resorts World Manila clearly on a mission to win a historic second consecutive APT Main Event title.

Not only did he pick up his second APT Philippines title, the player also took away the massive top prize of PHP 2,849,600 (~INR 37.86 lakh) which was a bit over his previous highest live cash. When spoken to after the win, he said, “Overwhelmed! I just can’t imagine the blessings that keep on coming. To God be the Glory!”

He now has joined an elite group of players like Henrik Tollefsen, Jeon Seung Soo, Mike Takayama, Samad Razavi, Iori Yogo, and Sam Nee Aik Chuan to have won two APT Main Event titles each. His final victim on the final table was China’s Jiajun Wang, who won PHP 1,326,000 for finishing second.

Final table results:

  1. Lester Edoc – PHP 2,849,600
  2. Jiajun Wang – PHP 1,899,900
  3. William Ysmael – PHP 1,326,000
  4. Jessie Leonarez – PHP 965,500
  5. David Chargualaf Sr. – PHP 729,700
  6. Trygve Leite – PHP 570,300
  7. Richard Marquez – PHP 459,900
  8. Czar Ian Marcos – PHP 380,000
