After three days of starting flights, Korea’s Lim Yohwan was the chip leader from the combined qualifiers and he decided to continue that good run on Day 2 at the Resorts World Manila, in the APT Philippines Championships Event. Ultimately, he went on to finish as chip leader after Day 2 of the tournament as well.
His good run turned into a fiery hot run on Day 3, as he finished as chip leader for the third day in a row, while the original field of 174 entries whittled down to the final table. These seven will battle it out for the top prize of PHP 2,819,900 (~INR 37.8 lakh) when they come out to play later today.
Towards the end of the day, Lim managed to close off with not one, but two double eliminations that put him way ahead with a massive stack of 2,626,000 chips. The next best stack is that of Germany’s Steffen Endres, who ended the third official day with 2,265,000 in chips.
Richard Marquez will be the last local hope as the Filipino has progressed to Day 4 with 557,000 in chips. Ending the day was another Double KO where Sun Tan and Bobby Zhang took 8th and 9th places respectively. The tournament is current in Level 22, with the blinds at 12,000-24,000 and the ante 24,000.
