Madhav Gupta finishes 4th in WPT Vietnam Kickoff Event

World Poker Tour DeepStacks (WPTDS) Vietnam is currently underway at the Pro Poker Club, Ho Chi Minh City. The series saw a huge Indian contingent making its way to the venue. The WPTDS VND 10 million Kickoff event was the first one to go in the books. Here’s a follow-up of what happened in the event.

The event saw 4 starting flights being hosted and a total of 595 entries were attracted. USA’s Rex Clinkscales (pictured below) eventually won the event for an awesome VND 905,000,000 (~INR 26.74 Lakhs). India also made its mark in the event when Madhav Gupta (pictured second), founder of Baadshah Gaming, finished 4^th for VND 316,910,000 (~INR 9.36 Lakhs).

Day 1A of the Kickoff saw Alok Birewar and Praveen Dwarkanath among Indians that qualified for Day 2. These were joined by Pavan Jain from Day 1B and 4 more Indians from Day 1C, Romit Advani, Shashank Jain, Eka Vedantham and Gupta. Apart from Gupta, 4 other Indians cashed including Jain (24th), Vedantham (58th), Dwarkanath (61st) and Jain (74th).

Gupta is one of the community entities who is enthusiastic about live poker, apart from running the Baadshah Gaming website. He has a strong presence in Asian live felts. He recently ran deep in two 2019 APT Vietnam tournaments couple months ago. He finished 4^th in the HR and 15^th in the Kickoff.

The winner of the tournament, Clinkscales, hails from sin city, Las Vegas and has over $1.5 million in total live earnings. He has played around the world, including WSOP and PCA in the West to APT in the East. He earned his best live cash of $162,354 at WPTDS Tampa Main Event back in 2017.

Another side-event in the WTPDS Vietnam, the Deepstack Turbo, saw an Indian Yasheel Doddanavar reach the Final Table, earning VND 20,170,000 (~INR 59k) at 6^th place.
