Poker fanatics have been swinging from one place to another this month. September has already crowned plenty of brilliant poker players and this time Dutch Classics at King’s Casino in Rozvadov saw the victory of Englishman Mark Berman in the Main Event that went on from September 18th to 23rd.
The event registered a field of 2,190 poker players (including 389 re-entries) with a buy-in of €195. A prize pool of €3,64,087 was drawn which was later shared among the top 224 places receiving a minimum amount of €396.
Out of a massive field, only 35 players headed to the showdown and already had €1,136 as prize money. Marcus Bonna entered as the chip leader progressing with 14,375,000 chips from Day 2. Berman doubled against ‘Raise Your Style’ with Kh Jh and Bonna struggled throughout the battlefield with a short stack in between and finished in the 4th place.
Berman against Stefan Pezzarossa in heads-up, the board opened Qd 9s 3s 10h 9h and Berman rose victoriously having two pair QQ99. The champion was awarded €58,072 and a €10,350 WSOPE Main Event Ticket.
Besides, Gerson George Victor was the sole Indian contender who finished at 15th position taking home €2,867 (~INR 2.22 Lakhs) as prize money. Indian players are frequent visitors at the King’s Casino owing to the location’s inexpensiveness and attraction.
King’s Casino is hosting WSOP Circuit (World Series of Poker) with over 2 million GTD and 15 gold rings starting today, 26th September to 14th October.
