Monday Roundup: Abinash Kumar Nayak wins ReCharge on Spartan


After a smashing Sunday, we have approached the regular weekday events where fares have been comparatively lower. But that did not stop the virtual felts from coming up with another exciting Monday. Undeniably, the start of the week pulled out several poker enthusiasts walking out with their hard-earned cash prizes. Here is a sneak peek of the day…

The headliner event on Monday was ReCharge INR 12 Lakhs GTD on Spartan Poker. The tournament kicked off at 8 pm, observing a massive number of 620 entries with each paying INR 2,200 buy-in. It was a profitable night for Abinash Kumar Nayak aka ‘QueenNine’ who powered through the field to grab the first-place prize money.

Down to the final hand in level 46 of the tournament, the players settled for a 6-way deal, with Nayak carrying the largest stack of 2.5 million triumphed the Monday night.

The Bout

Dominating a field of 218 players, the online crusher Bharat Vasan aka ‘Thinkfloyd’ championed The Bout INR 10 Lakhs GTD on PokerBaazi. Each hopeful chipped in INR 4,400 buy-in to enter the tournament and the top finishers were eventually paid out. Over 7 hours of shuffling and grinding, Vasan ended the night by shipping INR 2,35,300 beating ‘d00mtr00p3r’ in heads-up who settled for INR 1,65,100.

Monday Hustle

PokerStars hosted Monday Hustle INR 6 Lakhs GTD at 7:30 pm sharp. Always enticing a pretty decent field, each player equally paid INR 3,300 buy-in. However, after intense grinding sessions, it was Yash Shrivastava aka ‘hasyY@$#116’ outlasting the field and defeating Harsh Bubna aka ‘harsh1327’ in heads-up for INR 1,21,205. Online reg, Bubna settled for INR 90,435.

Six hours into the tournament, the chip graph shows Shrivastava lying below the average stack, however, the player managed to jump up and gradually top the list railing out his opponent.

On 9stacks, the Monday run of tournaments was headlined by StackUp INR 2.5 Lakhs GTD and the last player standing was Ashish Narwal aka ‘SANShISh’ pocketing INR 65,000 after beating ‘HUTUTU’ in heads-up. Eventually, the runner-up settled for INR 45,000.
