Moneycontrol and Spartan Poker to host 25L GTD ‘Poker for People’

2020 has been an eventful year so far for poker in India. Last year saw positive growth in the poker arena, from poker tournaments to leagues to collaborations and much more. Other industries have also been looking for opportunities to join hands with the Indian poker industry and one such partnership was Moneycontrol becoming presenting partner of the Jan 2020 India Poker Championship series.

Considered to be one of the country’s biggest storehouse of news, analysis, data, and tools, Moneycontrol has paired with Spartan Poker once again, this time introducing a tournament for poker players as well as the general public!

Counted among the leading poker sites in India, Spartan Poker is always hosting some of the biggest online events in India. Now, in collaboration with Moneycontrol, the two are presenting a free-to-play tournament called Poker for People (PFP) which is a part-online and part-offline tournament, with a massive INR 25 Lakhs guaranteed prize pool!

The Poker For People website reads, “Shout out to all – Poker enthusiasts, investors, brokers, entrepreneurs, corporates.” People from all walks of life can enter the poker tournament and the best part of the deal is that you can be a part of this big prize pool without putting in any investment! 

All you need to do is register for free and play online qualifiers on SpartanPoker.com to secure a seat. The platform has laid down 16 qualifying tournaments each day between 4 – 19 March. The top 20 qualifiers from each event will be assured seats to the PFP Main Event. The freezeout format means you only get one chance each tournament to finish in the top 20.

Once the qualifiers are done, a total of 320 contenders will be taking their seats in the INR 25 Lakhs GTD Main Event which will be a live tournament held in Mumbai on 29 March. Don’t worry if you live outside the city, because your expenses will be borne by Moneycontrol. All you need to do is brush up and showcase your poker skills without chipping in any buy-in amount.
