Muller Wins WSOP Event #67; India’s Anmol Srivats Finished 3rd


The 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is taking the world by thunder! With the shift of live poker to online, there has been a great participation by Indian enthusiasts. The current week has witnessed an outstanding performance by Team India. ‘Mandovi’ became the fourth player in the country to bring home the colossal bracelet, Suraj Mishra broke the previous record set by Abhinav Iyer by capturing, the biggest payout by any Indian at WSOP. Rahul Gupta finished eighth in Event #66 and today the rising star Anmol Srivats bagged INR 22.97 Lakhs in WSOP Event #67!

The 2020 WSOP Event #67: $500 Limit Hold’em gathered a field of 706 entries creating a prize pool of $335,350. At the end it was Austria’s Gregor ‘soulsntfaces’ Muller who won the WSOP Europe Package along with his first-ever gold bracelet and $45,102 in prize money. Muller knocked out Brunno Botteon heads-up who bagged $41,855 for finishing second.

The top 98 players took home a slice from the final prize pool including Julie Klein (32nd, $1,534), Craig Timmis (28th, $1,534), Rui Ferreira (16th, $2,557), Connor Drinan (14th, $2,557), Anson Tsang (12th, $3,488) and so on.

Team India Participants

Plenty of Indians participated in the tourney including ‘mitwa’, Srihari ‘bangbang1999’ B, ‘Alex_52’, ‘borntrouble,’ Ravali ‘Resurge-‘ Krishna, Avadh ‘Joka240’ Shah, Siddarth ‘AifeKaife’ Singhvi, Sanat ‘mehro2511’ Mehrotra and so on.

India’s Srivats eliminated Wei Zhao in the 10th place, Ken Okada went out in the 9th place followed by Hong Kong Nguyen, Michael Schwartz, Michiel Van. Muller raised from the button and Srivats three-bet from the big blind. Muller four-bet for Srivats to shove for 866,590, which was called by the former.

  • Muller: {q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

The board ran {3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Spades}, Muller flopped two pair and Srivats finished third for $30,680 (~INR 22.97 Lakhs).

In the final hand of the tournament, Muller raised from the button and Botteon three-bet for Muller to four-bet and Botteon to called for 133,160.

  • Botteon: {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
  • Muller: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}

The flop {7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} saw Botteon hit two pair but the turn {q-Hearts}  gave Muller higher two pair. The river {9-Clubs} completed the board and second Botteon went out in second place for $41,855 while Muller boosted his bankroll with $45,102 top prize.
