Nikhil Sayilen is new PokerBaazi MoneyMaker Champion!

Hours, days, weeks and months of hard work, learning, studying the game and analyzing various spots on the poker tables is what poker players put into the game. Each and every one of the successful players have put in a lot of effort and there’s nothing better than when these efforts start showing and players start winning big money from the game.

The latest success story in Indian poker is that of Nikhil Sayilen, who is the new MoneyMaker champion on PokerBaazi. Arguably one of India’s biggest online poker tournaments, the MoneyMaker was clubbed into the PokerBaazi Premier League (PPL) August Edition, serving as the Main Event of the series.

It all boiled down to this event that took place on the final day of the PPL series, starting at 7pm IST. Event #31: INR 1 Crore GTD Main Event – The MoneyMaker had a rich buy-in of INR 11,000 and by the end of the registration period, a huge field of 1,357 entries joined the tournament, creating an outrageous prize pool of INR 1,35,70,000 and making this the most successful edition of the MoneyMaker ever.

The most successful tournament means that the prizes increased too, making Nikhil Sayilen aka ‘stringbet710’ the biggest winner in the history of this tournament. He outlasted this field and by 4:40am this morning, he beat his final opponent to take down the tournament and win a surreal amount of INR 33,82,500 – truly a life changing amount this will be for the player.

Some of India’s best pros busted along the way, but Sayilen was determined on the night, beating Prince Singh aka ‘NaNki’ in heads-up, who also had a brilliant series. Singh took home another massive prize of INR 19,67,650 as the runner-up prize, backing up other deep runs in the tournament, with nearly INR 25 lakh earned in 8 cashes through the series.

As for Sayilen, this guy was barely around throughout the series. Not many would’ve imagined such a victory, as Sayilen had played in only 6 tournaments throughout the PPL and cashed in just one other one apart from the MoneyMaker. However, yesterday’s performance is what counts and he was brilliant on the day.

Many players walked away with huge prizes, including Sahil Agarwal aka ‘CairyHunt’ who won the final 7-figure score of INR 13,29,860 for finishing 3rd; Bidya Shankar aka ‘Ankit420’ was also extremely delighted with the biggest win of his poker carer, taking away INR 9,49,900 for finishing 4th; Anup Palod aka ‘Rmanasa’ finished in 5th place for a prize of INR 6,78,500Neel Joshi aka ‘Worm33’ won INR 4,74,950 for coming 6th; Anurag Srivastava aka ’13anurag’ came 7th and took away a prize of INR 3,73,175.
