Nikita Luther Makes Day 3 of $3,000 NLHE Event

It’s a month into the 2018 World Series of Poker and so far, we’ve had a few successes of Indian poker players, like Aditya AgarwalPaawan BansalRaghav Bansal and a few others. We haven’t heard much about the Indian women poker players at WSOP 2018 so far. However, Nikita Luther has arrived at Las Vegas to change that.

Luther registered to Event #54: Big Blind Antes $3,000 NLHE yesterday, where a total field of 1,020 players were recorded, generating a prize pool of over $2.7 million and a minimum pay-out of $4,513 going to the top 153 players. Yesterday, she got through to Day 2 of the event, along with newly appointed PokerStars Team Pro, Muskan Sethi.

Sethi hasn’t had the best time at WSOP 2018 so far, with no cashes as yet. She also busted out of this event before the bubble, while Luther was among the highest chip stacks right through Day 2. She battled through a field with multiple previous gold bracelet winners, including previous WSOP Main Event champions Scotty Nguyen and Qui Nguyen.

Luther ends Day 2 with 392,000 in chips, while Jonathan Abdellatif ended as a massive chip leader – 2,725,000 chips. It’s going to be a tough field for Luther to overcome tomorrow when she steps out to play on Day 3, but she is a good player and hopes of an Indian gold bracelet lie heavily on her.

The chances of another female WSOP champion are also high with Luther (392,000), 2-time bracelet winner Kristen Bicknell (298,000) and Anna Antimony (200,000) still in the mix. 31 survivors will come out on Day 3, with the current pay-out at $12,399. Luther’s biggest live poker win is $65,000 that she earned for coming 5th at the Aria 2017 Poker Classic Main Event, and she will have to finish in the top 6 of this event to beat that score. Either way, it’s going to be her second cash of WSOP 2018.

Keep reading GutshotMagazine.com as we track Luther’s progress on Day 3 of the #3,000 NLHE Event tomorrow.
