Raag Fernandes leads 58 players to Day 2 of IPC 100k Highroller

All eyes turned to the 100k Highroller today on the second day of the India Poker Championship (IPC). The highest buy-in event began earlier today on board the luxurious Big Daddy Casino in Goa and it was a packed house yet again. The 10k Kickoff Event was also taking place simultaneously which was taken down by Vinod Megalmani.

The focus then shifted and within just a couple of hours into the tournament, the guarantee was passed with 150+ entries registering. Late registration was on till the end of Level 10 and we reached the magical number of 210 entries, which not only created a massive prize pool of INR 2.03 Crore but also became the largest ever IPC 100k Highroller field, beating the last edition’s 207 entries of IPC Sep 2019.

From this massive field, 58 survivors bagged and tagged at the end of Day 1 and leading the pack is Raag Fernandes who doesn’t just survive but cruises through to Day 2 with a monster stack of 1.35 million chips. The closest to him is Jai Saha who managed to bag a stack of 1.27 million and looks to be in a good spot too, like he surprisingly always is in major Highroller tournaments.

The celebrities in the house proved that they’re no muck at poker either. Kunal Khemu and Anita Hassanandani were holding their own among a few professionals at the featured table, but they busted late in Level 10 and 11 respectively. At the same time, the likes of Raj Kundra (814,000) and Siddhanth Kapoor (375,000 also managed to get through to Day 2 of the Highroller.

Day 1 top 10 chip counts:

  1. Raag Fernandes – 1,356,000
  2. Jai Saha – 1,277,000
  3. Nathan Rao – 994,000
  4. Sahil Mahboobani – 942,000
  5. Nitin Gupta – 929,000
  6. Rahul Byrraju – 915,000
  7. Prem Amarnani – 884,000
  8. Rajat Sharma – 864,000
  9. Ayush Garg – 855,000
  10. Sriharsha Doddapaneni – 814,000

Day 2 will resume at 1 pm today at the same venue and we’ll be here to get you all updates on the same, so stay tuned to GutshotMagazine.com.
