Rubin Labroo beats Manoj Pentakota to Godfather title

It’s always an honour winning a major Adda52 title, considering they are among the top poker companies in India and also considering that the fields can be packed with the best talent from across the country. We’re here to report the recent Thursday featured tournament on Adda52 – Godfather 9.0 INR 20 Lakh GTD.

It’s usually a great pride to win Godfather, and even more so if you beat another top name in the circuit. That’s what happened this Thursday night on Adda52 when Rubin Labroo aka ‘kornkif’ beat Manoj Pentakota aka ‘thatsmymoney’ in heads-up to win Godfather.

With a buy-in of INR 5,500, a total field of 356 entries registered to the tournament from which the top 38 players received a pay-out of a minimum of INR 12,000 each. Yesterday’s field may not have been the toughest one considering most of our top players are battling it out in Vegas at WSOP 2019.

However, it was still a pretty intense finish between Labroo and Pentakota. Eventually, Labroo emerged victorious and added another major Adda52 title to his trophy cabinet, after recently also winning Mega Suits on the platform last month. Here, he won the top prize of INR 5,00,000 while Pentakota had to be content with INR 3,03,000 for finishing runner-up.

After an 8pm start on Thursday night, the tournament ended at 2:59am the next morning, completing a grind of nearly 7 hours. “It feels great to ship Godfather. Luckily, the field wasn’t too reggy and final two tables had a lot of recreational players. Great deep heads-up with Manoj Pentakota. He played well but, I guess, I got to win this one. Now looking forward to shipping the 9 Lakh Europe SNG ahead,” Labroo told OnlinePokerNews after his victory.

The specialty of Godfather is that the winner gets registered to a Finale SnG where he will battle with other Godfather 9.0 winners for a massive prize, in this case the INR 9 Lakh package trip to Europe.
