Winning poker tournaments online is nothing big for Rubin Labroo anymore. He sits down to play each night and while it’s most poker players’ dream to ship a major tournament, it’s just another day in the office for someone like Labroo, who plays under the name ‘kornkid’ across all platforms.
Yesterday, he participated in and eventually shipped the BSS MegaStack – an INR 5 lakh GTD tournament that takes place each Sunday, a part of PokerBaazi’s Baazi Super Sundays (SSS) promotion. He outlasted a strong field to emerge victorious on the night, taking away INR 1,10,000 in prize money.
The INR 2,750 buy-in tournament saw a field of 190 entries (120 players + 70 re-entries), of which the top 20 shared the spoils with a min-cash of INR 7,500. Labroo was, of course, the only player to end with a 6-figure cash in this tournament, but there were still quite a few known names finishing in the money.
Labroo beat Vinay B. aka ‘Vinstill’ in heads-up, with the latter having to settle for INR 82,500 for finishing second. In third place was Tanvir Gulia aka ‘jungliaunty’, another regular player on PokerBaazi. Shrey Thapliyal aka ‘shrey94’ finished in 4th place while ‘brocklesnar95’ finished in 5th. brocklesnar95 also recently won The Summit on PokerBaazi for a massive pay-out of INR 3.3 lakh.
Gutshot congratulated Labroo after yet another tournament victory and he really didn’t know what to say, as winning has just become a part of his daily routine now.
