9stacks is an up and coming poker site in India. They received major funding recently and seems like they’ve put it to good use. Their Prime Time @ 8 slot hosts some of the popular tournaments in the Indian scenario and yesterday being a Sunday, they hosted the Sunday Stacks INR 15 Lakhs GTD.
The tournament went into the books at 2.32 am today morning. It attracted a total of 234 entries (including 54 re-buys) to the virtual felts on 9stacks who chipped in the INR 5,500 buy-in. A total of top 40 places were paid in the event for a min-cash of INR 12,750.
One of the best poker players in the Indian community, Rubin Labroo aka ‘kornkid’ took home the Sunday Stacks title yesterday. Labroo pocketed INR 3,06,000 as the winning amount, railing ‘BigBetMix’ in heads-up at 2nd place for INR 1,95,000. Rounding up the top 3 was Gaurav Sood aka ‘mozzie17’ for INR 1,37,250.
Labroo has seen a lot of wins and deep runs in his poker career that listing them all would take up the entire article. He is a well-respected player in the circuit who has showcased some phenomenal poker skills both on virtual and live felts. He won his best live cash of INR 6.8+ Lakhs in 2017 DPT Kickoff event and has since then won at least 6 recorded cashes.
Since it was a Sunday yesterday, all the leading platforms were hosting their biggest weekly offerings and attracting top talents from across the country. Some of the knowns to earn in Sunday Stacks yesterday were Sanjay Taneja (9th – INR 39k), Shravan Chhabria (12th – INR 22.5k) and Sumit Sapra (15th – INR 18k). Other regs to finish in the money include Harsh Dembla (16th), Pranjal Gandhi (20th), 9stacks regular Sam Anand (24th), Chandni Malik (27th), Neel Joshi (31st), Sriharsha Doddapaneni (32nd), Goonjan Mall (34th) and Sajjan Barnwal (40th).
