According to the latest filings in the Mike Postle cheating allegation case, Veteran gaming attorney Mac Verstandig, filed a third time extension as the lawyers shifted from refiling the case to negotiating a settlement. However, the two sides need more time to come to a complete agreement.
The attorney, who is representing 88 plaintiffs wrote in a filing on 5 August, “Counsel for the parties have reached an agreement as to the principal terms of a settlement of this case, but require additional time to finalize the settlement.” He also mentioned that the case is not a class action suit and will require all 88 plaintiffs to individually agree and verify the terms of the settlement.
Some musings on yesterday’s news in the Postle/Stones case. (Also, y’all realize we’re going to amend and go forward against Stones, right? Reports of the case’s death are greatly exaggerated.) https://t.co/5FQsLmb2BL

Postle is accused of cheating in low-stakes live streamed poker games at Stones Gambling Hall in the Sacramento area. Based on his improbable consistent winning sessions that led to him winning upwards of $300,000 in mostly $1-$3 and $2-$5 no-limit hold’em games, many in the poker community believe he had access to the hole cards.
The plaintiffs were seeking damages of $10 million from Postle for fraud, another $10 million from Stones Gambling Hall for being negligent in their duty to ensure a fair game, and $10 million from Kuraitis on a fraud count for his potential cover up of the situation. Veronica Brill also sought an additional $1,000 on a libel count against Stones after they tweeted that the allegations she brought to light were ‘completely fabricated.’
Disappointment is not a strong enough word, but we will continue the fight with an amended pleading. In the interim, I would encourage everyone to read the judge's opinion, which is detailed and well-written. My admiration for our clients has no bounds. https://t.co/bt5POVWawe

Several high-stakes poker pros agreed with Brill’s accusations based on the statistical unlikelihood of Postle winning that much money at those stakes coupled with his on-camera plays. Two months ago, In a decision that will undoubtedly anger poker players across the world, A United States District Judge in Sacramento has ruled in favor of Stones Gambling Hall, Justin Kuraitis, and Mike Postle, opting to grant their motions to dismiss pending civil lawsuits stemming from Postle’s alleged cheating on Stones’ live stream. The latest filing has given the plaintiffs enough time to file the amended complaint. It’s likely terms of a settlement will be reached by 11 September.
